Karolina Stasiowska plays viola since the age of 11. She graduated with distincion from the same school (Karlowicz Music High School in Krakow) where she is now a viola teacher. She studied viola with Janusz Pisarski at the Krakow Academy of Music. She won numerous prizes and awards and have obtained training from Stefan Kamasa, Julian Tryczynski, Krzysztof Smietana, Peter Buck, Tibor Vaghy and others. She was a member of Goltland Baltic Music Academy in Sweden in 2006 as a scholarship receipient from the Ministry of Culture in Poland. She worked with Poland’s finest conductors like Krzysztof Penderecki, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Krzesimir Debski, Daniel Stabrawa. Since 2009 she was a member of the Orchestra of Life founded by Nigel Kennedy. She has given concerts in Berlin Philharmonic Hall and Royal Albert Hall among others and recorded an a new “Vivaldi-Four Seasons” for EMI. She has given concerts in USA, China, ZEA, South Korea and cooperated with orchestras like Krakow Philharmonic, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Beethoven Academy Orchestra and others. for the last 15 years she’s been a member of a string quartet Con Affetto. Her passion is a pre-war ashhenazy jewish music. She co-directs Klezmorim Trio where besides playing viola, she sings in Jidish.
